Autumn Nature Photography by carolyncochrane.com

I know it's still summer but I am really getting excited for Fall.  I can't wait to see all of the beautifully colored leaves once again and take a ton of new pictures.  This image above is actually a shot I took two years ago in Autumn but I just got around to editing it now.  I love the color combination of the vibrant orangey-yellow leaves against the pale lavendar sky.  Hope you enjoy!

Rose photography by carolyncochrane.com

A couple weeks ago, I bought a dozen roses at my local grocery store to take pictures of.  ha!  Sometimes it's just easier to buy something than to try to find that perfect flower in nature.  Don't get me wrong, I mainly shoot my photos in nature but once in a while I'll buy something pretty to shoot especially if I'm short on time.  I got a great deal too...a dozen GORGEOUS red roses were only $10, I couldn't believe it.

Isn't this rose pretty?  I just love the beautiful layers of petals on a pretty rose.

Hope you enjoy!

Purple Flower Photography by carolyncochrane.com

Sometimes there's nothing I love more than taking a picture of a very simple yet striking subject, like this daisy flower, and using it as a blank canvas to add a ton of color.  That's exactly what this photograph is all about.  I've really been inspired lately with color.  I get this creative urge in me that just BEGS to be expressed.  When I finally get the chance to hop on my monitor and edit in Photoshop, I'm a VERY happy girl.  :)

As some of you already know from following me and my photography, when it comes to color, I'm usually editing my images in every shade of blue...aqua, teal, turquoise, etc.  This time I figured I'd try something different...purple.  I thought it'd be fun to step a bit outside of my "color comfort zone".  I'm calling this new print "Pop of Purple."

I hope you enjoy this one and have a Happy Monday!

Hot Air Balloon Nursery Photography by carolyncochrane.com

I've always wanted to take a picture of a hot air balloon but until recently never had the opportunity.  A few weeks ago my husband and I spent a couple days in Amish Country in Pennsylvania.  We love it out there, the open space and beautiful farms are just so calming to us.  As we were riding along on a country road, I spotted this beautiful hot air balloon and got SO excited.  I had my camera in hand just waiting for a great photo opp.  Score!  It was such a fun experience.  We pulled over to the side of the road by these beautiful farms along with other excited onlookers.  I stood up through our sunroof and happily snapped away as the people in the balloon waved back.  So fun!

Unfortunately the sky was pretty grey so I couldn't get a nice blue color background.  I still love this though, I think it would look neat in a nursery.  :)

Have a great day!

Yellow Turquoise Flower Photograph by carolyncochrane.com

My mom has a bunch of these beautiful Black Eyed Susan flowers blooming in her flower bed right now and of course I had to take pictures of them.  I'm calling this new photograph "Cheerful" because the sunny yellows and pretty turquoise tones feel very uplifting to me.  I'm so drawn to this mix of color that I've created a set of three matching prints for my shop.  You can see the set here... Yellow Flower Print Set.

I hope this new image brings you a bit of cheer today.
