Yes! I've been selling my photography online since 2011 to thousands of very satisfied customers. My work is displayed & cherished in homes and offices across the U.S., Canada and many countries around the world.
Do you offer digital downloads of your images?
No, I do not offer digital downloads of my image files for personal use. Digital files of original high-resolution artwork is quite costly, it is less expensive to purchase the artwork directly from my shop. If you're interested in licensing for commercial purposes, please see my Licensing page.
Are the colors of your praints & canvases on my computer screen accurate? I would like to be sure the colors are right for my space first.
Please keep in mind that computer monitors can display color differently. What you see on your computer screen could conceivably vary a bit from the prints or canvases you receive. However, I professionally calibrate and coordinate my studio monitor with my photo lab to ensure the best possible results.
If you're interested in purchasing a larger size print or canvas but would like to check the color first before investing in the larger item, I offer 4"x 5" sample prints for $9 plus $2 shipping to the U.S. (for an international shipping quote, contact me) If the color is right for your space once you receive the sample, I will then subtract what you've paid for the sample (minus shipping) from the larger size order you place in the future. Please note this offer is only available for future orders of sizes 12x12 and larger.
What type of paper do you use for prints?
My photographs are giclee printed on museum-grade fine art paper with a luster finish using archival pigment inks.
Do prints come matted or framed?
No. Shipping framed prints is very expensive for my customers, it's a better value to purchase my standard-sized prints and place them into a ready-made frame or have them custom framed locally. For an easy, ready-to-hang alternative, consider my canvas gallery wraps. (ready to hang canvases not available to non-U.S. customers, please contact me for a rolled canvas option)
Are your prints signed?
I sign all prints 12x18 and smaller. I do not sign prints size 16x16 and larger or canvases since they ship directly from my photography lab to customers.
How do I know if the print (or canvas) I like has a vertical (portrait) orientation or horizontal (landscape) orientation?
You can find this information in the image description on each print's page. If you would like to change the orientation of an image, please fill out my Custom Requests form. I will then let you know if the image will work in a different orientation. (requires cropping)
Do you offer prints on canvas?
Yes, every image is available as a canvas gallery wrap to U.S. customers. If you are outside of the U.S. and would like information on a rolled canvas alternative that you would then have stretched at a local framer after receiving, please contact me.
How are your canvases made?
My canvas gallery wraps are made by a professional lab that specializes in fine art canvas creation. My images are printed on art canvas and stretched over a 1.5" deep solid wood base. (Not particle board) Canvases have a durable, no-sag surface and tight, clean corners. Built to last construction with an archival rating of 85+ years. Excellent color rendition, saturation and sharpness. UV-free protective coating.
Canvases come ready to hang with thick black backing. Hanging hardware included.
Please Note - Canvas gallery wraps are only available to U.S buyers. If you're outside of the U.S., please contact me for a rolled canvas alternative.
Are your sizes in inches or centimeters?
All sizes are listed on my shop in inches.
Do you offer custom print sizes?
Yes and no. Custom sizes require cropping to images. Depending on the size you need and the image you're admiring, the cropping may alter the image's composition so greatly that it can ruin the original look of the picture. If you'd like a custom size, please fill out my Custom Requests form and I will let you know if I can accommodate you.
Why are some images not available in larger sizes?
If an image is not available in larger sizes on the print's page, this means that the image will lose quality and clarity in larger sizes. Available sizes shown are the sizes that can hold the quality for that particular image. If you would like for me to double-check an image's largest printable size, please fill out the Custom Requests form to ask.
What payment methods do you accept?
This site accepts all major credit cards and payment made through PayPal.
Will my payment information be secure?
Yes, this site is certified Level 1 PCI DSS compliant which is an information security standard for handling credit card and debit card information. This web site is hosted by Shopify.com, one of the leading online commerce platforms for small and medium-sized businesses. SHIPPING / PACKAGING
When will my order ship?
Prints size 12x18 and smaller ship within 5 business days. Prints size 16x16 and larger ship within 7 business days. Canvases ship within 7 business days. Wall Calendars ship within 3 business days.
What does shipping cost?
To see shipping rates for item's you would like to purchase, add them to your cart and enter your shipping address. You can then view the shipping fee for your order without entering your credit card information. My shipping fees are set up to cover my cost to ship items plus my packaging & handling costs.
Some purchases include a 25% discount on shipping fees which are reflected at checkout, no coupon code is necessary. Orders that receive the discount are any U.S. customers purchasing the following combination of items listed below this paragraph. When I receive these types of orders, my costs are doubled to ship packages to customers since they're being shipped from two different locations. I appreciate orders for multiple items so to lower the shipping fees a bit for my customers, I give a 25% discount in the 2 following scenarios. Discount is applied to shipping fees only and not to items. International orders do not receive discount due to my higher costs to ship.
Do you ship to countries outside of the U.S?
Yes, I ship prints often to other countries however, I do not ship wrapped canvases to buyers outside of the U.S. For a rolled canvas alternative, please contact me.
When purchasing from other countries, PLEASE NOTE - I do not collect any customs when sending packages. Any extra custom fees, taxes, tariffs, duties, etc. that may be incurred at the time of delivery (not included in the shipping costs at checkout) would be at the discretion of your country's tax regulations. I have no way of calculating how much these fees would be, should they occur, and Carolyn Cochrane Photography is not responsible for those charges. It is rare that international customers have been charged additional custom fees/tax to receive packages but it IS a possibility so please keep this in mind before purchasing. Returns of international orders will not be accepted due to customs fees.
How will my prints or canvases be packaged?
ALL items are shipped in sturdy, waterproof packaging and carefully packed to prevent creases or bends. Prints are shipped flat or rolled depending on print size and your location. Photographs 12x18 and smaller are placed between two pieces of strong foamboard and then placed snug in a flat rigid mailer. Prints 16x16 and larger are gently rolled and shipped in a sturdy protective tube. Canvas gallery wraps are wrapped in waterproof packaging and shipped in sturdy boxes. Rolled canvases to international buyers are shipped in rigid protective, waterproof tubes.
What carrier do you use to ship packages?
Prints are shipped via USPS First-Class and Priority Mail, depending on the size(s) you've purchased. Canvases are shipped via FedEx.
Where will my order ship from?
For U.S. buyers - Prints size 12x18 and smaller and international orders are shipped directly from my studio in New Jersey, USA. Prints 16x20 and larger are shipped from my photography lab in Wisconsin. Canvas gallery wraps are shipped from my canvas lab in Colorado.
For Buyers Outside of U.S. - Every international order is shipped from my studio in the U.S.
When will I receive my order?
U.S. Buyers - Packages are usually delivered within 7 business days from the day of shipment. This however depends on what you've purchased and where you are located. Please note that delivery times may take longer during the holidays. Canvas gallery wraps usually arrive in approximately 5-7 business days from the day it ships by my photography lab in Colorado.
International Customers - Most international orders make it to their destination in a timely manner but occasionally packages get stuck in customs and take longer. For this reason, please allow up to 6 weeks for delivery. If you have not received your package in 6 weeks, please check with your local post office. On occasion, international postal systems may not release packages to recipients until a customs charge has been paid. For more information, please read the question above, "Do you ship to countries outside of the U.S.?"
Will I receive tracking info for my package?
Yes, tracking information will be emailed to the email address you entered at checkout once your items have shipped.
RETURNS & EXCHANGES
What is your return policy?
All items are custom so please consider carefully before purchasing. I will accept returns or exchanges of prints up to size 11x14 (minus initial shipping costs & return shipping costs) up to 14 days after you have received the order. I do not accept returns on large format prints or canvas wraps. However, if you have an issue with your item(s), please contact me...I want all of my customers to be happy and satisfied with their purchase.
You will be responsible for returning prints in their original condition. If you return an item, your payment will be refunded once I receive the item in it's original condition. If you need to return something, please contact me.
What if despite your best efforts to ship my items safely, I receive damaged prints or canvases?
If you have received damaged prints or canvases, I require a snapshot of the damaged item before it can be replaced. Canvas damage must be reported to me within 2 business days or less, my lab offers a small window of time for canvas replacements so please get in touch with me as soon as possible with a snapshot of the damage.
