Architectural Photography Art by carolyncochrane.com

I found this unique shot in my archives that was taken in my local historic city and thought it might make a cool architectural print.  I'm really feeling inspired by this kind of subject lately versus my usual nature stuff...I want to find more places with interesting fences, gates and other architectural goodies.  I'm adding it to my LONG "picture-taking to-do list."

Teal Bubble Photography by carolyncochrane.com

As I mentioned in a recent post, I bought a bubble machine to try for some bubble pictures.  (Yes, I'm a big 36 year old kid buying herself a bubble machine!)  Here's the first of many shots that I'll be sharing with you.  I took this one in my backyard last week.  It wasn't an easy shot to get, it was kind of breezy so that made it much harder to focus on the moving bubbles.  Totally worth it though!

I'm calling this new photograph "Floating on Air."  Now available on my shop as a print or canvas.  More to come soon!

Country Landscape Photography

Last weekend my family and I took a nice day trip to Strasburg, Pennsyvlania to visit the historic East Strasburg Rail Road Station.  We decided to go to celebrate my nephew's 4th birthday...the little guy is IN LOVE with trains, they're all he talks about and plays with.

The best part of the day for me was the train ride we took through the surrounding Amish countryside.  We rode through peaceful fields with wide-open views of farm houses and land.  I'm a country-girl at heart so between that and having something new to take pictures of, I was in heaven.  I'm calling this new picture above "Peace in the Country" since that's how I always feel when I'm out in the calming open space.

Have a great weekend!

Abstract Sparkly Lights Art by carolyncochrane.com

I've always admired sparkly light photography on Etsy and elsewhere online...it has such a magical feel to it.  I've been trying my hand at this subject matter lately and BOY is it fun!  Here are three brand new prints that I just finished over the weekend.  Aren't they cool?

So what's my secret to this type of shot?...Christmas lights!  Back in the winter when we had some lights hanging outside, I trekked out in the cold, set my camera on a blurry focus setting and snapped away.

Seascape Photography Art by carolyncochrane.com

I was going back in my archives the other day trying to find some ocean pictures I haven't edited yet when I came across this one.  I took this on our vacation to Bar Harbor last summer while we were out on a whale-watching boat tour...35 miles off shore!  We had a beautiful day out at sea...the ocean was very calm which made the trip really nice.  (since we were a little afraid of getting seasick!)  The clouds were gorgeous and we even spotted a few whales...oh how I miss being out there.

I'm calling this new print "What Lies Over the Horizon" because I love the feeling of mystery and wonder the horizon brings, especially on the ocean.  To see this print on my shop, go here... Seascape Photograph.
